Flora

I having been photography flora for quite some time, especially lilies. Much has been written about the lily…lilium…lilies angelical…of purity and fertility.  It is written in Greek mythology that lilies sprang from a drop of mother’s milk spilled by Hera while nursing the infant Hercules.  The iris, just like it’s “sister” the lily, was an important symbol in ancient writing and art. The tulip, with it’s inviting center throat, mirrors the lily’s functioning male and female components.  I feel as though I am witnessing a sensual ballet through the camera lens. How fascinating the similarities between their epicurean “dance” and that of humans.
